Moselle C. Leland Bohorquez, J.D., Managing Attorney
Moselle C. Leland Bohorquez was born and raised in Southern California. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She completed her legal studies at Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles.
Ms. Leland has always had an interest in the rights of individuals with disabilities. While in college, she worked for a disability attorney and volunteered at the Braille Institute as a teaching assistant for blind students. During law school, she studied disability rights. Ms. Leland can also speak conversational Spanish.
In addition to being a member of NOSSCR, Moselle is a past chairperson of the Orange County Bar Association Social Security section and has spoken at patient support groups. Moselle has handled cases at all adjudicatory levels, including the US Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Alexis M. Leland, Attorney
Alexis M. Leland graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology. She completed her legal studies at Stanford University School of Law. Following law school, Ms. Leland had the honor of being a law clerk for a United States District Court Judge, Rudi Brewster.
Ms. Leland is a compassionate advocate for individuals with disabilities and zealously pursues her client’s cases. Ms. Leland also speaks conversational Spanish.
Enrique M. Juarez, Attorney
Enrique M. Juarez was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in International relations from the University of Southern California and subsequently earned a master’s degree in public administration from California State University, Los Angeles. He earned his law degree from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles.
Mr. Juarez has always had an interest in advocating on behalf of individuals. Prior to law school, he worked in the non-profit sector advocating for equal access to quality health care services for children and families.
As an attorney Mr. Juarez has worked a variety of legal matters before joining the Law Offices of Judith S. Leland. He is fluent in Spanish.
Judith S. Leland, (founding partner, in memoriam)
Our founding attorney, the late Judith S. Leland, was appointed as a Supplemental Security Income judge with the Social Security Administration in 1974. In that capacity, she presided over numerous Social Security Disability and SSI hearings in California.
Judith S. Leland was an active member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR), having served as district representative and having been a speaker at NOSSCR conventions. She was a presenting panel member at the CEB course, “Handling the Social Security Case.” She served as chairperson of the Social Security Sections of the Stadium Towers Plaza Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and as a member of the Attorney-Client Relations Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Ms. Leland handled over 2,000 Social Security Disability cases at all adjudicatory levels, including the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
She created a Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Law Firm dedicated to care for clients, a deep foundation of integrity and a commitment to serving individuals with disabilities She remains a part of the DNA of our law firm, not just through families ties to this family focused law firm, but through the dignity she imparted to every aspect of our law practice.
Jennifer L. Cho, Attorney
Jennifer L. Cho received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UCLA in 1989. She earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of West Los Angeles in July, 1994. Ms. Cho worked as a paralegal in the field of Social Security disability at the Law Offices of Susan Wasserman throughout her undergraduate and law school studies, then joined the firm as an associate attorney upon being admitted to the bar in December, 1994. Throughout her years practicing law, she has worked exclusively in the field of Social Security disability. She has exceptional expertise in the interaction of Social Security disability and Workers’ Compensation benefit programs. Upon Ms. Wasserman’s retirement, she joined the Law Office of James P. Shea. Ms. Cho joined our firm upon Mr. Shea’s retirement in April, 2021. We are fortunate to have such a capable, understanding and experienced attorney serving our clients.
Sonia Guerra, Paralegal
Sonia Guerra was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and has worked for Leland Law since 1994. Ms. Guerra always wanted to make a difference, volunteering and working for various non-profit organizations within her community, from feeding the homeless to helping the elderly. Her forte is assisting and guiding our clients in the entire Social Security process and providing other resources with care and compassion. Ms. Guerra is fluent in Spanish.
Tracey Parfitt, Office Manager/Paralegal
Tracey Parfitt was born in Wales, United Kingdom. She has been working for Leland Law since February, 1990. She has extensive knowledge of the Social Security process at all levels. She handles all of our cases in Federal Court. She has been a dedicated employee. Her compassion, leadership and diligence is an asset to our firm.
Vanessa Piscazzi, Paralegal
Vanessa has been with the law firm since 2008. Prior to working at Leland Law, Vanessa worked with the mentally ill and substance addicted in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. She has a passion for advocacy work and has a 22-year history working to empower individuals with disabilities. She was educated in Southern California, has her undergraduate degree in Sociology from UCLA, and has multiple advanced degrees in the helping professions.
